Betty Anderson, La Presidente & William Simpson, Chef De Gare 2009 - 2010 Voiture 1067

Welcome from the Chef De Gare

It was a honor and privilege to serve my country in active duty for 23 years and now my service continues as Chef de Gare. It is with great pride that I hold this position. Being able to help with the different programs that the 40/8 support, gives one a satisfying feeling of serving again. One person cannot do this alone, therefore I am asking each of you to join with me and help make this a banner year for Voiture 1067 and American Legion Post 166 in all of our Programs. Remember the famous words:

UNITED WE STAND/DIVIDED WE FALL

Yours Truly,
William L Simpson
Chef de Gare

What is the Forty & Eight

La Societe des Quarante Hommes et Huit Chevaux is an independent fraternal organization of U. S. veterans, more commonly known as the Forty & Eight.

The Forty & Eight was formed in 1920 by American Legionnaires as an honor society, and it is committed to charitable aims. Membership is by invitation for members of the American Legion who have shown exemplary service. All Forty & Eight members are veterans of congressionally recognized wartime periods via their Legion membership.
