24th Annual Gator Wreck - The 24th Annual Gator Wreck will be held at American Legion Post 166 in Goose Creek South Carolina - May 16 - 18, 2008. Please visit the Gator Wreck Page for more details. Check the Gator Wreck page often for updates as they become available.

RITUAL PRACTICE - Ritual Practice for the Gator Wreck will be held on the following days at 7:30 PM at Post 166: Thursday, April 29th;  May 6th; & May 12th. If you are involved or want to be involved in the Rituals at this year's Gator Wreck, please attend.

Gator Wreck Set up - We held our last formal Gator Wreck Meeting on April 20th.  Everything is pretty much in place due to the efforts of the committee.  It is due to this team that we will have a successful Wreck this year.  The Headquarters Motel is already full, and others have made reservations at the Quality Inn up the road already.  We need help decorating the Ballroom for the Wreck.  Come on out and help set up the Ballroom at Post 166 on May 13th immediately following the American Legion E-Board Meeting at 9:00 PM.  We will also be discussing a few finishing touches left over from our formal meetings too.

What is the Forty & Eight

La Societe des Quarante Hommes et Huit Chevaux is an independent fraternal organization of U. S. veterans, more commonly known as the Forty & Eight.

The Forty & Eight was formed in 1920 by American Legionnaires as an honor society, and it is committed to charitable aims.  Membership is by invitation for members of the American Legion who have shown exemplary service.  All Forty & Eight members are veterans of congressionally recognized wartime periods via their Legion membership.

Welcome from the Chef De Gare

Well you are a “Legionnaire”.  Welcome to the ranks. Your service to your country is now complete, or is it?  Have you reached the pinnacle of your service? Not yet.  Now comes “THE” Forty and Eight. An elite group of veterans, who have joined together to honor our country and to serve the community where it is most needed.  You might not be eligible or able to become a member.  Ask a “Forty and Eighter” how to join.  Intestinal fortitude will determine the outcome. To paraphrase the Marines, The few the brave and the successful.
