Hello from the Chef de Gare and Madame President,
Way to go Ralph….. The Bowl A Thon was a lot of fun. Wish we could have had more bowlers but those in attendance had fun watching each of us trying to bowl. The hamburgers and hotdogs back at the post were great and helped ease some of the aches and pains we all had. Some had more pain than others but I will not mention who.(haha). At least we made a little money for our TRAIN.
March will be busy with final planning for Southland Dixie. We will be holding meetings on the 10th for committees at 7:00pm, review ads for the program book on the 20th at 1:00pm and stuff ditty bags on the 23rd at 7:00pm. All meetings will be held at the post.
Also March 12th, we will be having a Golf Tournament to raise money for Southland Dixie. There are flyers at the post with all the info. If interested or know of anyone or team that would like to play, you may contact me (Bill Simpson @ 509-3109).
Even though we are in high gear for Southland Dixie, we do have our annual GATOR WRECK in May and there will be a meeting for that on the 13th of March at 2:00pm at the post.
On the 9th of March we will be making our monthly visit to the VA hospital to visit with our veterans. I encourage those who have not gone with us before, to come out for a heartwarming experience. I also invite anyone else from the other organizations within the Legion family to join us. We will depart from the Post at 6:15 pm and we normally return around 9:00pm.
As always our Promenade and Rendezvous will be held on the 4th Tuesday of the month. The date is the 22th at 7:30 pm. I will be discussing more on the upcoming events at the Promenade. It's a golden time to get involved with everything we have going.
Madame President Carol reminds all Dames that plans for Southland Dixie will be discussed during Rendezvous.
Thanks to all the Voyageurs who have renewed their membership. We still have some who have not. Membership is an ongoing project. If you haven't RENEWED please do so.
For the good of the Voiture and Cabane
