How To Become A Member Of The World's Largest Veteran's Group


The American Legion has over 3 million members world wide and has a staff in Washington DC to keep Veteran's concerns before congress.

If you have served on active duty in the armed forces during any of the war eras listed on the application, and have been honorably discharged or are still on active duty, you are eligible for membership in The American Legion. Let your voice be heard and join today!


Here's how to join:

  • Download the application.
  • Complete all areas of the application and sign it.
  • Mail the application along with a photo copy of your DD-214 (Do NOT send Originals!) or Military ID card, if on active duty, and a check for $37 to: (Click here to request a copy of your DD-214 on line)

Besides having an active lobby in Washington DC, other benefits include, but are not limited to, motel and car rental discounts, group life insurance, and a monthly subscription to The American Legion magazine.
